Does my horse's nose need protecting?
Horses with light skin on the front of their face, especially those with light or pink noses, are prone to sun damage. Whether that's sunburn, cracked or peeling skin, and blisters, sun damage can be a nuisance.
Where there's broken skin, your horse is also at risk for secondary conditions - infection, dew poisoning, and attracting flies and other insect pests.
By preventing sunburn, the GG Sun Shield was designed and developed to avoid or mitigate the impact of all the other problems as well.

Will it fit a Mini Horse?
Unfortunately, the dimensions of the sun shield are mean for horses and donkeys with broader faces - size 4 and 5 grazing muzzles.
While the Sun Shield product is not intended for minis, we created a do it yourself tutorial when this product was still in research and development. You can create your own by following the instructions!
